Shaka Tribe

ABOUT

Shaka Tribe exists to inspire values through cultural art. Symbols tell stories, and stories connect people. The more we learn about each other and our cultural differences, the more we can recognize how similar we are. Each product tells a Story: A wave often correlates with consistency, power, and the highs and lows of life. The moment a wave reaches its highest point is the same moment where it starts to crash down. After each wave that crashes, another one comes right after. This can represent our consistent efforts in reaching a goal. Connect to a Value: This design represents strength. We will not give up as we have strength in ourselves and the people around us. Connect to your Culture: These waves that we are riding are the same waves that our ancestors have been on. They are the same waves that our future generations will one day face. Just like we find strength in our ancestors, we too can do that for those who come after us. We have to write our story and our experiences so that we can give strength for generations.

WE Mana

WE are connected through legacy and whakapapa. Our mana is reflected through how we care for our people; protecting, nurturing and supporting them. All of our projects, initiatives and enterprises collectively work together to uplift all members of our community, internally and externally – creating a ripple effect that is felt throughout Aotearoa and across the waters of Te Moana Nui a Kiwa. Our purpose is to enhance the mana of Māori and Pacific people – to support them in realising their own dreams, with a vision to positively impact the lives of 10 million people. Under WE Mana are 4 entities: WE Accounting - Mana in the numbers; WE Advisory - Revitalising mana, driving purpose; WE Outsourcing - Mana in the process; WE Connect - Connecting those who can with those who need. When you work with WE Mana, your purchase is also helping to enhance the mana of Māori and Pacific people, not only across Aotearoa, but also across the Pacific Ocean.

The Keiki Dept

The Keiki Dept. (department for short) is owned and operated by Leilani, a Native Hawaiian mother of five. After the birth of her oldest son in 2015, she wanted to purchase clothing for him that featured Hawaii designs rooted in local and Hawaiian culture. It was at this time she discovered the world of small shops and the idea of supporting mom made at a few local markets. There were a handful of mom owned shops at the time but almost all made clothing exclusively for girls and if they were for boys, it was tacky aloha prints or t-shirts that just scratched the surface of local culture. Our mission is to share knowledge of Hawaiian culture through our products and give back to our community.
